The New York Corn and Soybean Growers Association, Inc. is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2022 Board of Directors.
The board seeks to elect the seats of three (3) regular Director positions whose terms will expire on 09/30/2021. Directors shall be elected by the members of the Association by a majority vote at the September 09, 2021 Board of Directors meeting for a term of three (3) years, must be residents of New York and regular grower members of the New York Corn & Soybean Growers Association. All Directors must be at least twenty-four (24) years of age. Newly elected Directors will begin their terms effective October 1, 2021.
Service on the Board of Directors of the NYCSGA is a chance to help drive the decisions of the Association and the valuable work it conducts in research, promotion & education, and advocacy for the betterment of NYS commodities and our farmers. Board service provides opportunities to develop valuable leadership skills in non-profit governance, program and strategic planning, to advocate for the industry and give back to our communities. Many of our Directors also serve in positions with our partners including the National Biodiesel Board, the United Soybean Board, the American Soybean Association, the National Corn Growers Association, the New York Animal Agriculture Coalition and the New York Farm Viability Institute. Service with NYCSGA provides many opportunities to travel and expand your personal and professional network.
Candidates should expect to attend 4/6 full-day in state board meetings per year, attend the Winter Expo and Summer Crop Tour, participate in advocacy efforts, committees and frequently engage with the Executive Director as the need arises. Candidates are encouraged to attend Commodity Classic and various fly-in events in DC (when they resume).
